Stage 7

Stage 7 Breakdown:

Stage 7 bring the riders back down to the lowlands, with a 170km smooth trip from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux. The stage only features one 4th category climb, that can barely be noticed on the map, topping out at an altitude of 84m above sea level. The day ends with a classic sprint into the city of Bordeux. Last time Tour de France visited Bordeaux was in 2010, a stage won by none other then Mark Cavendish. Cavenish is currently tied with Eddy Merckx on 34 stage wins, and would need a final win in this final tour of his to enter the record books as the sole record holder.

The final kilometres take place within the city of Bordeux. Between the 4km and 2km mark they will enter a few 90 corners and hairpins as well as crossing the bridge across the river La Garonne. After they have crossed the river, they turn 90 degree right and procede along the river the final 2km to the line. It’s a flat and straight finish, favoring the fast sprinters.

Favorites:
| +++ | Jasper Philipsen, Caleb Ewan, Fabio Jakobsen
| ++ | Dylan Groenewegen, Wout van Aert, Mark Cavendish
| + | Phil Bauhaus, Mads Pedersen, Sam Welsford

Tour Manager:
