Quick & Reliable Predictions
Stage 7 Breakdown:
Stage 7 takes the riders on a flat 175.1km journey from Hagetmau to Bordeaux. After the demanding opening week in the Pyrenees, the sprinters get another golden opportunity before the race heads into more rolling terrain. With just around 700m of climbing and only one minor categorized climb, everything points towards a straightforward bunch sprint unless crosswinds create chaos.
The stage heads north through the Landes region on wide, exposed roads before entering the vineyards surrounding Bordeaux. The only categorized climb is the Côte de Béguey, a short Category 4 ascent that crests 37 kilometres from the finish and is unlikely to trouble the fast men. From there, the route is almost entirely flat, giving the sprint teams plenty of time to organize their lead-outs ahead of what should be a high-speed finish in Bordeaux.
After the mountains, the teams of the pure sprinters are expected to take full control of the race from the start. The breakaway may be allowed a small advantage, but with a flat run into one of France’s most iconic sprint finishes, it would be a big surprise if they stayed away. Barring crosswinds, crashes, or late splits, this stage should end in another bunch sprint.
