Stage 8

Stage 8 Breakdown:

Stage 8 is a mix of flat and hilly, taking the riders on a 200km trip from Libourne to Limoges. Despite the flat nature of the stage, the last 50km contain some hilly areas and the final kilomtre will likely not suit the pure sprinters.

The stage offers 3 categorized climbs, although none of them are a massive challenge. One 3rd and two 4th categories are on the menu, but it’ll likely be hard to drop the peloton in any of these. Looking at the profile, the decisive point will likely come in the last kilometre of the stage, starting at an elevation of 230m and finishing at 261m. It might not sound much, but that 31m gain create a gradient of 3.1%, possibly enough to seperate the puncheurs from the pure sprinters.

Favorites:
| +++ | Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert, Jasper Philipsen
| ++ | Biniam Girmay, Mads Pedersen, Caleb Ewan, Bryan Coquard
| + | Julian Alaphilippe, Tom Pidcock, Jasper Stuyven

Tour Manager:
