Stage 16 Breakdown:

Stage 16 provide the riders with a final flat stage of the tour, with a 188km trip from Gruissan to Nimes. Given that the tour is not finishing in Paris this year due to the olympics, this is the final opportunity for the sprinters to fight for a stage win.

Only one 4th category climb face the riders, and it’s passed with 76km still to go. The final kilometres take place within the outskirts of Nimes, with the final straight to the line containing multiple roundabouts. Two roundabouts are even within the final kilometre, providing a technical sprint for the teams and riders.
