Stage 14

Stage 14 Breakdown:

Stage 14 bring the riders on mountainous 152km trip from Annemasse to Morzine Les Portes du Soleil. The arrival city’s name is translated “The Doors of the Sun”, and is known as a major skisport destination. The stage contains no less then one 3rd category, three 1st category and one HC category climbs, totalling over 4000m in elevation gain.

The final climb up the HC category mountain Col de Joux Plane, is 11.6km long with an average gradient of 8.5%. The peak is reached with 12km to go, and from where the remaining kilometres are downhill, down to the city of Morzine Les Portes du Soleil. The final steep decent down to the finish line doesn’t stop until the last 500m, and favors a strong downhill rider. The winner of this stage will likely either come from a strong downhill rider in the breakaway, or possibly one of the GC contenders who had good legs up the final climb and manage to maintain or extend the gap in the descent.

Tour Manager:
Etappe 14 er en tøff fjelletappe, med mange kategoriserte fjell. Avslutningen etter siste HC kategori er 12km med bratt utforkjøring og favoriserer en rytter som er sterk i nedoverbakker. Mange poeng å hente underveis i etappen for ryttere som kjemper om klatretrøyen, og ikke minst i den siste HC bakken og ved målgang. Kan lønne seg å hente inn favoritter på denne etappen til laget, ettersom mange poeng totalt vil bli delt ut. Lykke til!
