Stage 15

Stage 15 Breakdown:

Stage 15 takes the riders on a mountainous 169.3km journey from Annemasse to Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy. The final stage before the second rest day is another major test for the GC contenders, with around 4300m of climbing packed into a relentless route. A summit finish at Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy ensures the strongest climbers will once again have the chance to make a difference.

The riders face a series of long climbs throughout the day before the decisive final ascent to Le Mont-Dore Puy de Sancy. The climb is 3.3km at 8%, but comes after a demanding day of racing and is steep enough to create meaningful time gaps. With no long valleys between the climbs, the stage should be hard from start to finish, making it difficult for anyone to recover.

The GC teams are expected to control the race, although a strong breakaway could have a chance if the general classification battle remains quiet. More likely, the pace on the final climbs will reduce the group of favorites before the battle for the stage win and valuable seconds unfolds on the final ascent.

Favorites:
| +++ | Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel
| ++ | Thymen Arensman, Lenny Martinez, Richard Carapaz
| + | Paul Seixas, Mattias Skjelmose
