Stage 9

Stage 9 Breakdown:

Stage 9 bring the riders on another flat 174km trip from Chinon to Chateauroux. The stage is listed without a single categorized climb and should be fairly easy to control for the teams. The final kilometres takes place within the city of Chateauroux, with two 90 degree corners just before and after the 2km mark. After that the remaining 1.5km is a straight line to the finish. It’s one of the last flat stages of the tour, so the sprint teams that hasn’t secured a stage win yet will likely be eager to make it a bunch sprint.

Jonathan Milan is currently leading in the race for Green Jersey, ahead of all his sprint rivals and with Pogacar 26 points behind in second. Although Pogacar likely doesn’t put much thought into the Green Jersey, Milan will need to collect as many points as possible on the remaining flat stages if he wants to stay ahead of Pogacar in the end. It should be interesting to watch how it plays out.

Favorites:
| +++ | Jonathan Milan, Tim Merlier
| ++ | Jordi Meeus, Binian Girmay, Kaden Groves
| + | Søren Wærenskjold, Wout van Aert

TourManager:
