Stage 8

Stage 8 Breakdown:

Stage 8 lead the riders on a hilly 183km journey from Semur-en-Auxois to Colombey-Les-Deux-Églises. The stage can become anything from a sprint stage, to a one-day classic to a stage where the breakaway makes it, all depending on the pace set by the riders and the teams. The riders are facing five categorized climbs, including three 4th category and two 3rd category climbs. Despite this, the last categorized climb is done with 60km still to go.

Even though the rest of the stage doesnt contain a categorized climb, it doesn’t mean that it’s completely flat. 60km of continues small hills face the riders, before they reach the line in Colombey-Les-Deux-Églises. The final kilometre has a small incline, where the strongest rider with the most juice left in their feet will likely claim the win.

Etappe 8 er en småkupert etappe på 183km. Til tross for mange små stigninger underveis på etappen er avslutningen forholdsvis enkel, så man kan ikke utelukke spurterne. Hvor hardt etappen blir kjørt kommer til å avgjøre om de rene spurterne klarer å henge med, eller om det blir en avslutning for de sterkere klassiker rytterne. Man kan heller ikke utelukke at et brudd holder hele veien inn på en slik etappe, så det vil nok være stor interesse for å gå i brudd. Det er en etappe hvor man kan hente klatrepoeng uten de alt for tøffe bakkene, så man kan forvente å se Abrahamsen i brudd!
