Stage 5 Breakdown:

The 5th stage of the Tour is a 33km individual time trial with start and finish in Caen. The time trial is more or less flat favoring the typical strong time time specialists, like Remco Evenepoel. Don’t rule out solid time trial riders fighting for the GC like Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar though, as they will have to give all they have to set a strong time.

Caen is located in Normandy and was home to William the Conqueror. William was a duke of Normandy and got known for invading and conquering England in 1066 following the death of Edward the Confessor. He decisively defeated and killed Harold at the battle of Hastings to secure the throne. William built many historical buildings and castles in Caen, but unfortunately most was damaged or destroyed during the allied bombings during the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
