Stage 2

Stage 2 Breakdown:

Stage 2, July 6th, take the riders on a hilly 209km journey from Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-Sur-Mer. The stage contains four categorized climbs including two 3rd category and two 4th category climbs totalling over 2500m of elevation gain.

The destination town of the stage, Boulogne-Sur-Mer, is located on the north-western coastline of France. It originated as an important harbor for the roman empire when they invaded Britain in year 43, and continued to serve as a base for the roman naval fleet in the british seas until the year 296. Today the city remain one of the most important fishing ports of France.

The last 10km of the stage contain multiple short but steep climbs. The final climb to the finish line is the shallowest of the three but still provide a challenge to the riders. The 1.2km with an average gradient of 3.8% will still seperate the puncheurs from the pure sprinters and with the yellow jersey up for grabs it should make for an interesting finale.

Favorites:
| +++ | Wout van Aert, Mathieu van der Poel
| ++ | Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel, Thibau Nys
| + | Axel Laurance, Biniam Girmay

TourManager:

Mathieu v.d. Poel
– Thibau Nys
