Stage 1 Breakdown:

Tour de France 2025, the 112th edition of the Tour, kicks off on July 5th in Lille, France. Stage 1 take the riders on a fairly flat 185km trip around the neighboring districts before returning back to Lille. The stage contains three short 4th category climbs with a total elevation gain of just under 1000m.

The final climb is completed with 45km still to go, and the remaining journey towards the finish line is flat. The final kilometres take place within the city centre of Lille with multiple 90 degree corners in the final 4km. However following the last 90 degree corner around the 1km mark, the final stretch to the line is straight as an arrow.
